officially opened their newly renovated Network Operations Centre (NOC)
The NOC houses highly-trained technical staff, who are responsible for
monitoring and identifying alarms, troubleshooting network service
failures, dispatching technicians, and tracking service issues to
completion. The facility has been relocated to a new space within the
secure Ontera Central Office building.
A ribbon cutting ceremony and barbeque, attended by employees and
clients, marked the occasion.

The Timmins NOC monitors Ontera's telecommunication network integrity to
avoid service impact to its customers throughout northeastern Ontario.
The NOC is a 24/7 operation, 365 days a year.
The new NOC features large LCD screens that provide an overall view of
Ontera's telecommunications network allowing better surveillance and
response to network issues.
12 employees work in the NOC, and an additional 18 Ontera employees work
in the Timmins Ontera office.
The NOC is located within the Timmins Ontera office, which is equipped
with multiple transmission fibre entrances allowing network diversity,
as well as a standby generator that provides power protection.
The NOC is located at 160 Cedar St. S. in Timmins, beside the Porcupine
Ontera, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Ontario Northland, is a fully
