On Track To Create 50,000 By End Of 2012
WINDSOR,ON, Sept. 16, 2011 /CNW/ - The Ontario Liberal Plan is
delivering 300 new clean-energy jobs for Windsor families and is on
track to create 50,000 across the province by the end of 2012, Premier
Dalton McGuinty announced today.
"What we've achieved together in the last eight years is nothing short
of amazing," said McGuinty. "Our plan is working, creating good jobs
for Ontario families today, and building a clean-energy future for our
children and grandchildren."
CS Wind in Windsor was the first of four plants announced as part of a
$7 billion clean-energy manufacturing investment by Samsung C&T. Using
100 per cent Ontario steel, CS Wind is building wind towers —
supporting our clean energy plan and creating hundreds of good jobs for
families in Windsor.
"We are proud of our ongoing investment in the City of Windsor because
of the Green Energy Act, and the commitment by Premier McGuinty and his team," said CS Wind
Canada President Sung Sup Kim. "Our new facility will play a key role
in creating hundreds of jobs locally, and will allow us to better serve
our customer's markets in Ontario and across North America. This is an
exciting time in the renewable energy sector. Continued Investment in
wind power and related technologies will help to further shift the
focus toward creating a long-term and sustainable renewable energy
environment in the Province of Ontario."
"Ontario is on track for a stronger future," said McGuinty. "The
opposition would take us off track by ripping up the Green Energy Act and killing clean-energy jobs — including right here in Windsor.
That's why I'm determined to win this election, so we can continue to
create jobs and build a strong future for Ontario."
The Horwath NDP have sided with the Hudak PCs and pledged to kill tens
of thousands of clean-energy jobs by scrapping programs that support
the budding clean-energy industry — including right here in Windsor.
And their crushing $9 billion tax hike on job creators will send
companies fleeing Ontario — just like they did under the NDP in the
Tim Hudak has announced he would cancel the contracts, firing hundreds
of hard-working Ontarians, and killing tens of thousands of jobs being
created in the clean-energy economy. In addition, the Hudak PCs have a
$14 billion hole in their platform — which would mean deep cuts that
will put our economy, education and health care at risk.
Both would take Ontario off track at the worst time.
Only the Ontario Liberals are committed to the Green Energy Act and creating 50,000 clean-energy jobs for Ontario families.
