TORONTO, Feb. 23 /CNW/ - OLG Slots at Hanover Raceway is celebrating a
decade of great gaming, strong community partnership and local economic
benefits today. Community representatives and Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) executives marked the tenth anniversary with a special cake-cutting
ceremony. Attendance included OLG's Senior Vice President of Gaming,
Larry Flynn, Regional Gaming Director John Hayes, site General Manager
Andre Gonsalves, Mayor for the Town of Hanover Kathi Maskell and other
local councillors .
"Since the opening of OLG Slots at Hanover Raceway ten years ago, OLG
has enjoyed a strong community partnership with Hanover, the regions of
Grey and Bruce and its residents," said Larry Flynn, Senior Vice
President, Gaming. "We're proud that through this partnership, the Town
of Hanover has been able to support important local programs and
initiatives, and we look forward to many more successful years in
Hanover providing great entertainment."
As the host community for OLG Slots at Hanover Raceway, the Town of
Hanover has received more than $7.4 million in non-tax gaming revenue
since the facility opened. Mayor Kathi Maskell states, "I would like to
extend sincere congratulations to the OLG Slots at Hanover Raceway.
Hanover Council remains very pleased with the solid partnership between
the Town and OLG, that has provided numerous community benefits
throughout the region. The dozens of employment positions,
entertainment opportunities and support of community based projects are
very much welcomed and appreciated in the Grey and Bruce regions. The
Town of Hanover anticipates many more successful years of continued
partnership and collaboration as an OLG Slots host municipality."
OLG Slots at Hanover Raceway is owned, operated and managed by OLG and
has created almost 100 jobs since opening. The facility offers
approximately 131 slot machines and has attracted more than 2.8 million
visitors since opening ten years ago.
OLG has also been a proud community sponsor of events such as the
Hanover Bentinck and Brant Agricultural Fair, Relay for Life in
Hanover, and the Business Achievement Awards.

and gaming facilities. Since 1975, OLG lotteries, Casinos, Slots, and
Resort Casinos have generated more than $32 billion for the benefit of
the Province of Ontario. Gaming proceeds support Ontario's hospitals,

provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and
local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the
