GUELPH, ON, June 1, 2011 /CNW/ - NOW Foods is conducting a voluntary
recall of the company's Calcium & Magnesium Softgels (120 & 240
capsule) because it has been determined that these products contain
vitamin D3 in excess of label claim (10,000-13,000 IU per 1 softgel as
compared to labeled 200 IU per 1 softgel).
The product was distributed throughout Canada. The affected Canadian
product UPC codes are 7-33739-81251-3 (120 softgels) and 7-33739-81252-0 (240 softgels). The affected Canadian lot numbers for product 7-33739-81251-3 are: 12223690, 1254349, 1256051, 1267071, 1293728, 1303703, 1324612,
1332732, 1351362. The affected Canadian lot numbers for product 7-33739-81252-0 are: 1256361, 1264390, 1294029, 1303565, 1323213, 1329581, 1347292. The
product UPC code is located on the label and the lot number is located
on the bottom of the bottle.
Puresource has not received any confirmed adverse events associated with
elevated vitamin D use in Canada.
Any consumers who have been taking the recalled product for an extended
period of time and are concerned should consult a doctor or other

should return the product to the store where it was purchased for a
full refund or replacement. No receipt is required.
