and Resignation of a Director
MONTREAL, Nov. 1, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - Noveko International Inc. (TSX:
EKO) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that its Noveko Filtration
Division has achieved major breakthroughs, having recently won new
contracts worth a combined total of $380,000 from four leaders in the
Quebec swine industry.
Three sites of the AGR Labrecque farm located in St-Bernard de Beauce ─
also known for its owners' R&D activities within Ro-Main ─ will now be
equipped with Noveko's new-generation air filtration solutions. These
solutions will also replace the Noveko™ antimicrobial filters installed
for about three years in one of the AGR Labrecque farm buildings. To
maximize the effectiveness of Noveko™ air filters, it is recommended
that they be replaced on average every three years. That provides the
Company with a recurring source of revenues. One of Noveko Filtration's
new clients is the Alain Laflamme (Saint-Simon de Bagot in Montérégie)
farm, recognized for the importance it attributes to technologies and
the safety of its livestock. As such, it will act as a technological
benchmark for Noveko™ filtration solutions. These new contracts add to
those obtained at the end of the summer from the Robitaille and
Agri-Marché groups, for which the deliveries have already been
completed. The Robitaille group (Mont Saint-Grégoire) operates the
renowned Quebec business Lucyporc, whereas Agri-Marché (Saint-Isidore
de Beauce) is a Quebec leader in animal feed and also operates mills
and poultry farms. Most of the filter deliveries to the various sites
are scheduled to be completed by the end of the second quarter ending
December 31, 2011.
"We are very proud of these orders, which stem from both existing
business relationships and new clients, attesting to Quebec swine
industry leaders' interest in our new-generation air filtration
solutions. In a challenging economic context for this sector, breeders
increasingly recognize the importance of adopting a sustainable
production management model. It is now acknowledged that setting up a
complete biosafety program, including air filtration as a key feature,
proves profitable as it contributes to avoid the costs and devastating
effects of airborne diseases such as the porcine reproductive and
respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus. In this regard, we are pleased to
report that the efforts of our veterinary partners who recommend our
products are paying off," indicated Mr. Simon Labrecque,
Vice-President, Filtration, Noveko.
Noveko Filtration has also diversified its product offering for the
swine industry extending it to the transportation industry. "In line
with our strategy of designing innovative applications derived from our
patented air filtration technologies, our filters are now installed in
trucks carrying hogs to protect them against pathogens from outside
air. At Noveko, we deem it a duty to improve our offering at every
level of the supply chain," added Mr. Labrecque.
