Northern Thunderbird Air Sadly Confirms the Passing of Matt Robic

VANCOUVER, Nov. 17, 2011 /CNW/ - Yesterday we lost another member of our company's family with the passing of First Officer Mathew Robic, 26 at Vancouver General Hospital.  He had finally succumbed to the injuries received during the tragic accident of flight 204 on October 27, 2011.  At the end of his courageous fight to live he was lovingly surrounded by his girlfriend, parents, younger sister, grandparents and many extended family members and friends.

Matt was a strong, fit and vivacious young man just getting started in a career that he loved.  He had recently moved from Mission, BC where he grew up, to Burnaby, BC where he and his partner Natalie had recently started a new home together.  He was a quietly determined and professional colleague who had good humour and was a joy to work with.  We are devastated by this loss and the loss of Captain Luc Fortin.  Both of these men were greatly loved by their families and very well liked and respected by their peers.

A private memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced and the family would like for the media to respect their privacy during this heartbreaking time.
