Nightingale Signs Agreements to Serve 190 Healthcare Practitioners Across North America in its Fiscal 2011 Third Quarter

MARKHAM, ON, Feb. 7 /CNW/ - Nightingale Informatix Corporation (TSX-V: NGH) ("Nightingale" or the "Company"), an application service provider (ASP) of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and related services today announced that during its fiscal 2011 third quarter ended December 31, it signed agreements to deploy 190 Seats of its Nightingale On Demand EMR and Practice Management solution to healthcare providers across Canada and the US  (A "Seat" is defined as a paying healthcare provider using Nightingale's Electronic Medical Record). Included in these Seats is an enterprise agreement with a specialized care center in upstate New York, a large Cardiology practice in Ontario, and a large Nephrology practice in Ontario.

"We are pleased with the success we have had adding new EMR customers to date this fiscal year, and we believe we are positioned to further expand our presence throughout North America," said Sam Chebib, President & CEO of Nightingale. "Both the Canadian and US EMR markets offer significant further growth potential for us.  We have achieved certification across various jurisdictions in Canada, including Saskatchewan, Ontario and Nova Scotia, and we expect to receive our Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) meaningful use certification for our EMR solution in the US in the next few months."

A substantial number of the EMR agreements Nightingale signed in the quarter are with Ontario-based clinics that are being supported through OntarioMD's EMR implementation funding program. This quarter in particular, Nightingale experienced an increase in the uptake of its EMR by Ontario-based specialists, due in part to their growing awareness of the funding that is available to them, and the Company's strong track record of implementing physicians successfully through its Fanatical Customer Service program. The Company signed EMR agreements across multiple specialties, including cardiology, endocrinology, orthopedic surgery, neurology, internal medicine and nephrology, among other specialties. The flexibility of Nightingale On Demand to tailor functionalities to meet the clinical and research needs of a specialty was key in Nightingale winning these contracts.

Mr. Chebib added: The availability of government funding remains a catalyst for EMR adoption. However, we are also starting to see a wider recognition among physicians of the real value EMR technology brings to medical practices. Although there may still be some near-term fluctuations, we anticipate that North American healthcare practitioners' adoption of EMR will continue to gain momentum, as we truly enter the phase of mass adoption."
