MONTREAL, Sept. 9, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Montreal International Game Summit (MIGS) being held November 10 and 11 in Montreal has officially unveiled its 2014 program, cementing its position as the leading east coast event of its kind in North America with a star-studded lineup of speakers, including industry personality Leigh Alexander.
Indeed, writer, critic and consultant on games, to whom we owe the well known Sexy Videogameland blog, will be in Montreal for the first time to attend MIGS2014. The young woman is known for her struggle about gender equality in the world of video games and her positions on the culture of the game and the players, which were published in the Los Angeles Times, Variety, Slate, Paste, Kill Screen, GamePro and numerous other publications.
Montreal: A video game hotbed
The presence of international video game stars like Leigh Alexander proves that Montreal is now the place to be on the east coast for the video game industry," said Martin Carrier, president of event organizer Alliance numérique. "Montreal is a big influencer player and more than ever is determined to be a world leader by attracting high caliber developers and decision makers."
The Canada Media Fund, a proud partner of the event for many years, shares this view. "Canada's video game industry has forged a reputation for excellence. The whole world is watching our businesses and our talented professionals, who are known for their tremendous creativity. We are very proud to support such a vibrant and successful industry," said Valérie Creighton, president and CEO of CMF.
