Marc Blondeau - Newly elected chair of the Board of Directors of the National Theatre School of Canada (NTS)

MONTREAL, Nov. 2, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - Marc Blondeau was elected chair of the NTS Board of Directors during the School's 52nd Annual General Meeting held in Montréal on October 28, 2011.

A graduate of McGill University's Management Faculty, Marc Blondeau has sat on numerous boards and associations and has been an NTS board member since 2006. He presently heads a consultancy practice in media, communications and business development after being a media executive and specialist at Rogers Media, Groupe TVA and Telemedia Communications.

NTS can only stand to benefit from Mr. Blondeau's vast experience in the world of business and communications. He succeeds Jodi White, who stepped down after seven years of devoted chairmanship, culminating with the highly successful year of celebrations surrounding the School's 50th anniversary.

Also during the 52nd AGM, Bernard Amyot, Kathryn Brownlie, Brenda Jones Kinsella and Caroline Mulroney Lapham were nominated to the NTS Board of Directors. Mr. Amyot is a partner in Heenan Blaikie's Litigation group, Ms Brownlie was, until very recently, Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales at Rogers Consumer Publishing, Ms Kinsella is chair of BC's Fraser Academy and Ms Mulroney Lapham is Consultant, Corporate Development at Wellington Financial.
