TORONTO, May 9 /CNW/ - Luis Moreno-Ocampo, Prosecutor of the
International Criminal Court, will appear in a one-on-one interview on The Agenda with Steve Paikin Wednesday May 11 at 8 pm.
The discussion, which was taped last week, covers a number of topics
including why he took the job at the ICC, what he is most proud of in
his time in office, and how the Court has grown over the years.
Moreno-Ocampo also speaks about the challenge of getting states to
cooperate with the Court and how his efforts toward international
justice are affected by the decision of global powers to take matters
into their own hands. Specifically he was asked what he thought of the
United States' actions regarding Osama bin Laden and Muammar Gadafhi.
World Broadcast Premiere of Prosecutor at 9 pm
Immediately following Luis Moreno-Ocampo's interview with Steve Paikin,
TVO will present the World Broadcast Premiere of the documentary Prosecutor. With extraordinary inside access into how the relatively new ICC
works, this timely feature-length documentary by filmmaker Barry
Stevens follows Moreno-Ocampo as he investigates and prosecutes some of
the world's worst criminals for some of the world's worst crimes. He's
a hero to genocide survivors, but has bitter enemies on both the right
and the left. Prosecutor offers front-row seats to the historic events that will determine
whether the ICC is a groundbreaking new weapon for global justice or
just an idealistic dream.
