Knightsbridge establishes Executive Search practice in Alberta to Help Clients Respond to Emerging Talent Crisis

CALGARY, June 6, 2011 /CNW/ - It is clear that the recent economic recession has not reduced Alberta's emerging labour crisis. Recent media reports indicate that Alberta is facing a serious labour shortfall of more than 77,000 workers over the next 10 years. The combination of a rapidly recovering Alberta economy and a large number of skilled workers retiring, will significantly impact all business in the province. Now more than ever, Knightsbridge Human Capital Solutions knows it is critical that organizations have plans in place to provide a balanced focus on recruitment, employee development and retention.

That is why Knightsbridge has invested in bringing together a team of Alberta's leading human capital and executive search professionals. Joining the company's Executive Search practice is: Mark Hopkins, Managing Partner; Simon Vincent, Partner; Denise Gilroy, Partner; and Catherine LeBlanc, Principal. Knightsbridge will continue to announce key additions to this team in the months to come.  Based in Calgary, and integrated with Knightsbridge's Leadership and Career Solutions practices, these individuals will establish Knightsbridge as a key player in Alberta's executive search market, and strengthen its position as one of Alberta's foremost strategic human capital solution partners.

"We are thrilled to have these highly accomplished executive search professionals join the Knightsbridge team in Calgary" said David Shaw, Founder and CEO of Knightsbridge Human Capital Solutions. "Their arrival is a pivotal part of Knightsbridge's western growth strategy to invest heavily in building out our integrated human capital solution business model across Canada. All four bring strong long-term ties and a deep understanding of Alberta's business environment and community and have the business experience and expertise needed to best serve our clients", continued Shaw.

"From a human capital perspective, this is a critical time for Alberta", said Mark Hopkins, Managing Partner. "We believe that companies must effectively manage the "leadership gap" being created as an ageing workforce retires in ever increasing numbers", continued Hopkins. "At the same time we are seeing rapidly increasing activity levels, increased technical and commercial demands, and a significant shortage of specialist technical skills. We are ready and looking forward to helping energy and technology companies effectively manage their talent acquisition needs."

Knightsbridge's Calgary team will focus on helping companies recruit and develop internal leadership for roles at the board, executive and senior management levels in the Oil and Gas, Power and Utilities, Professional Services, Transportation, Environment, and Technology sectors. The team will also leverage Knightsbridge's strategic partnership with Amrop, a global executive search network with 86 offices in 54 countries.
