MONTREAL, June 5, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - James E. Grunig and Larissa A.
Grunig, two luminaries in the world of communications and public
relations, will each receive an honorary doctorate from the Université
du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). This distinction, the highest awarded by the University, will be
presented at the convocation of the Faculty of Communication on June 12, attended by UQAM Rector Claude Corbo, the Dean of the
Faculty, Enrico Carontini, the Holder of the Chair in Public Relations and Marketing Communication, Bernard Motulsky, and Pierre Bérubé, Director of the Centre for studies on risk and crisis communication. In awarding this honour, the University wishes to recognize their
decisive contribution to theoretical and empirical research in the
field of public relations and communication, as well as the innovative,
humanistic and unifying quality of their work.
