International Institute of Business Analysis and Agile Alliance announce new collaboration

  • Organizations seek feedback from users of Agile Extension to BABOK® Guide

TORONTO, Nov. 9, 2011 /CNW/ - Today, International Institute of Business Analysis and the Agile Alliance are announcing the publication of the Agile Extension to A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge and inviting all members of the agile and business analysis communities to provide feedback on the extension.

Obtain the Agile Extension and an online feedback form at Practitioners can provide feedback until January 31, 2012. The BABOK® Guide offers a common framework to understand and define the practice of business analysis. Used by over 200,000 practitioners worldwide, it is available at

IIBA® Chief Business Analyst Kevin Brennan, CBAP, PMP, says, "I believe that the agile and business analysis communities have a lot to learn from one another. This joint effort is a major step in that direction."

Shane Hastie of the Board of Agile Alliance says, "As an agile business analyst myself, I believe that this will help practitioners understand how important effective business analysis is for successful agile development."  

Developed by a global team of volunteers, this new release offers information on business analysis in agile lifecycles; the mapping of information back to the BABOK® Guide 2.0; descriptions of over 20 new business analysis techniques useful in an agile environment; and key principles regarding agile business analysis.  

The Agile Alliance is a non-profit organization with nearly 6,000 members globally dedicated to promoting the concepts of agile software development.
