MONTREAL, June 21, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - Assystem, an international
engineering and innovation consultancy, is expanding in Greater

to create or maintain more than 100 jobs over the next two years. The
announcement was made during the 49th International Paris Air Show - Le Bourget.
Assystem has 45 years of experience in industrial engineering and has a
global workforce of more than 9,000 employees in 14 countries working
in the following fields: aerospace, transportation, naval and defence,
energy and nuclear, and life sciences. Assystem is involved in complex
infrastructure engineering and external R&D (product development,
electronics and onboard systems).

providing development assistance to its customers—all major players in
the global industry. Having established a strong presence in the
aerospace sector, Assystem now has around 30 engineers in Montréal and
develops new activities in the ground transportation and energy fields.
"Assystem is pursuing a policy of exogenous and endogenous growth, and

innovation consultancy. Our expansion in the Greater Montréal region is
in line with our policy to develop our activities in North America and

also aim to get closer to leading-edge companies in the Montréal region
with whom we already established successful business ties in France
several years ago," explained Assystem President Dominique Louis.
"Québec is among the major global aerospace players and we can take
pride in that. Nearly 40,000 people work in this strategic industry of
our economy. Foreign investors contribute significantly to the growth
of the Québec aerospace sector, particularly as a result of expansion
projects such as the one announced by Assystem. I would like to
congratulate the company for its outstanding growth prospects," said
the Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade,
"A diversified and quality business offer, qualified and creative
workers, effective infrastructures, a solid urban lifestyle—they all
make Montréal an attractive region. Innovative companies such as
Assystem that choose to set up here and prosper in the metropolitan
region confirm the fact. Our 2011-2017 economic development strategy
will allow us to capitalize on our assets to make Montréal a focal
point for creativity and success," said Gérald Tremblay, Mayor of
Montréal and President of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal.
"The expansion of a renowned enterprise such as Assystem in Greater
Montréal further highlights the attractiveness of our metropolitan
region and strengthens our local transportation sector's ability to
offer engineering and design services in the aerospace and railway
sectors as well as critical software development," pointed out Jacques
St-Laurent, President and CEO of Montréal International.
