Announces Winning Holiday for 'Name Your November Holiday' Facebook Contest

The votes are in and 42 per cent of Canadians favour Holiday Shopping Day!

According to a recent® 'Name Your November Holiday' contest, hosted on Canada's Facebook page, 42 per cent of Canadians want a Holiday Shopping Day in November. Nearly 900 Canada Facebook fans voted on the five proposed November holidays. Holiday Shopping Day topped the list with 42 per cent of the votes followed by Hockey Holiday (17 per cent); Snow Tire Day (15 per cent); Lucy Maud Montgomery Day (14 per cent); and Girls Only/Boys Only Day (12 per cent).

With the majority of Facebook fans voting for a Holiday Shopping Day, has some recommended travel deals and accommodations near popular shopping districts for gift-buyers everywhere.

West Edmonton Mall, Edmonton, Alberta
