Horwath NDP Skips Education - Again

NDP K-12 plan amounts to just 0.0009% of total education budget

TORONTO, Sept. 15, 2011 /CNW/ - On a day The Economist credits Ontario with "one of the world's best-performing schools systems", Andrea Horwath confirmed the NDP has no plan for Ontario's 2 million elementary and secondary school children, said Liberal MPP Kathleen Wynne.

"The disappointing NDP platform skipped education, and today's announcement ignores what parents care about most, their children's success," said Wynne.  "Horwath completely ignored graduation rates, new schools, class sizes, test scores, and full-day kindergarten."

The NDP delayed their education plan for months, and today's $20 million announcement amounts to just 0.0009% of the total education budget.

"Ontario needs the serious plan that only the Ontario Liberals are offering," said Wynne.   "Ontario Liberals are the only party absolutely committed to building the most educated workforce in the world - from full-day kindergarten to university, college and apprenticeships."

"Only Ontario Liberals have a positive plan to move Ontario forward."
