TORONTO, June 22, 2011 /CNW/ - Holcim (Canada) Inc. launches its third
annual Safety Day campaign today. Introduced in 2009, Safety Day is one
of many initiatives put in place by the company to achieve its goal of
ZERO HARM TO PEOPLE. It is meant to be an occasion to reflect on health
and safety in the workplace, and further improve it. The event will
take place on September 21 and will focus on incident prevention, with
activities organized at every location across Canada.
"This year, employees will go beyond task specific risk analysis. They
will be asked to think of what could happen around them, that is not
directly related to their task, but that could still impact them and
cause an incident," explained Paul Ostrander, President and Chief
Executive Officer, Holcim (Canada) Inc. "They will also be encouraged
to share their thoughts and experiences in order for each division of
the company to benefit from what the others have learned."
