TORONTO, Feb. 24 /CNW/ - Guangdong Kelon Air-Conditioner Co., Ltd. is
voluntarily recalling Whirlpool 25 and 35 pint dehumidifiers with model
numbers AD25USV, AD25GUSW, AD35USV and AD35GUSW, due to safety
concerns. It has been determined that an electrical failure in the
dehumidifiers' circuitry can overheat, posing a fire hazard.
Products affected by this recall were sold at the following retailers -
Canadian Tire from August 2007 to February 2011 under product numbers
043-5437 and 043-5436
Affected model numbers include AD25USV, AD25GUSW, AD35USV and AD35GUSW.
The model number is located behind the water bucket and serial numbers
are printed on a label located on the side of the unit as pictured
Consumers who have purchased these products should immediately stop
using the recalled dehumidifiers, unplug the units and contact Kelon at
the toll-free number or website below to verify if their dehumidifier
is included in the recall. If the dehumidifier is included in the
recall, Kelon will coordinate a repair with the consumer. To expedite
the repair process, consumers should contact Kelon directly to
coordinate the repair of their unit.
