TORONTO, Jan. 11 /CNW/ - The Canadian Grocery HR Council (CGHRC), with funding support from the
Government of Canada's Sector Council Program (SCP), announced today
the release of a series of free PDF and interactive web-based career
profile videos on its website featuring success stories of real
professionals working in the grocery industry.
Each English and French profile consists of mini video clips in which
individuals discuss how they started their careers, why they decided to
stay, the benefits of working in grocery and how they moved up the
"These profiles were created to demonstrate the breadth of career
opportunities in the food retail/wholesale sector, and to provide
compensation information to illustrate that the industry provides
competitive wages and benefits," says Michael Sloan, communications
coordinator for the CGHRC.
The Council also created a custom designed bilingual youth-career
landing page to accompany the videos, in order to better attract and
retain the youth demographic. These resources are all free and can be
accessed on the CGHRC's website at www.cghrc.ca/profiles/en/.
Established in 2003, the Canadian Grocery HR Council (CGHRC) is a
nationally recognized, non-profit organization funded by the Government
of Canada's Sector Council Program that brings together representatives
from business, labour, education, industry associations, government and
