"Coping with a seriously ill child has a significant impact on the
well-being of an entire family," said George Mohacsi, Foresters
President and CEO. "Through our long-standing partnership with
Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, the Radiothon program has helped
millions of children receive access to quality specialized health care
they so desperately need and deserve."
Foresters is the founding sponsor and underwriter of Children's Miracle
Network Hospitals' Radiothon program in the United States and Canada.
As a result of Foresters financial support, 100 percent of the money
raised goes directly to local children's hospitals. Since the
partnership began in 1990, Foresters has helped raise more than $430
million for local children's hospitals across North America.
"All of us at Children's Miracle Network Hospitals admire Foresters
commitment to the well-being of families," said Children's Miracle
Network Hospitals president and CEO, John Lauck. "The financial support
from Foresters helps cover the costs of our Radiothon program, and
makes it possible for every dollar donated to help children and
families in communities across North America."
Children's Miracle Network Hospitals currently engages more than 340
stations throughout North America to participate in Radiothons. In 2010
alone, close to 200 Radiothons took place. Radiothon donations are used
to fund research and training, purchase equipment, and help with costs
for uninsured and underinsured patients. In addition to its generous
financial support, Foresters volunteers commit countless hours at their
local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
About Children's Miracle Network Hospitals
Children's Miracle Network Hospitals® raises funds for 170 children's
hospitals across North America, which, in turn, use the money where
it's needed the most. When a donation is given it stays in the
community, ensuring that every dollar is helping local kids. Since
1983, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $4
billion, most of it $1 at a time. These donations have gone to support
research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated
care, all in support of our mission to save and improve the lives of as
