A Company Specializing in Environmental Protection and Remediation
GUELPH, ON, Jan. 20 /CNW/ - Dr. Gene Shelp, President and CEO of ENPAR
Technologies Inc. (TSX-V:ENP) ("ENPAR" or "the Company"), is very
pleased to announce that ENPAR has entered into a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) with InTechnology Chile Ltda ("InTechnology") to
develop markets in Chile and other Latin-American countries for ENPAR's
array of state-of-the-art water treatment technologies.
Based in Santiago, Chile, InTechnology is a privately held engineering
firm that has been in operation for more than 10 years. InTechnology is
dedicated to providing a full range of innovative environmental
processes, technologies and services to domestic and international
industrial sector clients. Their highly regarded engineering team has
wide experience in disciplines relating to production process
optimization, energy efficiency, municipal drinking water treatment,
and industrial and municipal wastewater treatment. InTechnology's
clientele includes world class companies such as CODELCO, the National
Copper Corporation of Chile which is currently the largest copper
producer in the world; FRUTEXSA, a major world-wide exporter of dried
fruits and nuts; and Salmon Marine Harvest, a Norwegian company with
between 25-30% of the global salmon and trout market.
InTechnology has been involved with the design, development and
installation of a combined total of 70 municipal and industrial liquid
waste and sewage treatment systems. Pursuant to the MOU, InTechnology
expects to introduce the ENPAR water treatment technologies and develop
novel integrated systems that provide more comprehensive solutions for
markets initially in Chile.
InTechnology will conduct a market study to identify specific
applications and facility locations for pilot tests of ENPAR systems.
Senior members of the InTechnology engineering and business development
team are scheduled to visit ENPAR headquarters in early March. The
anticipated implementation of a formal agreement will result in a
pilot-test program and is expected to provide impetus to secure orders
for full-scale ENPAR water treatment systems. The proposed business
model is expected to focus on build-own-operate installations, a common
practice in Chile and other countries in South America.
Dr. Shelp commented, "This MOU exemplifies the ENPAR growth strategy to
achieve market entrance and acceptance, when appropriate, through
business relationships with well-established, highly respected firms
serving an existing, broad client base and with access to distribution
channels. InTechnology believes that the ENPAR products is well suited
to the Chilean water treatment market estimated at US $1 billion
annually. The successful deployment of our technologies within the
framework of the build-own-operate model should provide ENPAR with a
long-term revenue stream."
