A first in usability certification for Desjardins
MONTREAL, June 6, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - Desjardins's expertise in
user-centered web design has now been recognized internationally. Its
AccèsD Division has just obtained HFI's Certified Practice in Usability
(CPU). Granted by Human Factors International, this certification is
based on the industry's best practices. AccèsD is the first Desjardins
Group entity to obtain this world-recognized certification.
AccèsD began the process of obtaining HFI certification a year ago. To
meet the rigorous requirements for this standard, it called on its
usability experts to completely review its practices and recommend a
new methodology. This new set of working methods will emphasize
user-friendly and user-centered design for the Desjardins website and
its mobile services. AccèsD's usability experts also underwent specific
training and an individual certification process to become
HFI-Certified Usability Analysts (CUA).
"Building on these good practices, Desjardins can develop its Internet
and mobile solutions to home in on our members' and clients' changing
needs and high expectation," stated Danny L. Desrosiers, Director,
Internet and Mobile Solutions, AccèsD Division, Desjardins Group. "This
approach confirms that Desjardins has made it a priority to retain its
standing as a leader in the field of usability in Canada and abroad."
"Obtaining this certification for the AccèsD Division validates our
expertise and our rigorous and consistent focus on user-centered
design," added Roger Tessier, Vice-President, AccèsD Division,
Desjardins Group. "Our willingness to undergo this kind of auditing
process proves how much we want to put our members and clients first by
providing them with websites that are easy to use, fast and secure."
Desjardins.com is the most visited financial website in Quebec, with
over 2.4 million AccèsD users.
