CIRI Announces Colleen Vancha as New Board Chair and Elects Three New Directors

TORONTO, June 7, 2011 /CNW/ - The Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) today announced the appointment of Colleen Vancha as Chair of the CIRI Board of Directors for a two-year term. Colleen is Senior Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs at Viterra and has served on CIRI's Board since 2006, having held the position of Vice-Chair since 2010.  She succeeds David Carey, past Chair, who will remain on the Board.

In her current role at Viterra, Colleen manages the company's investor relations program, continuous disclosure obligations and oversees the company's global public affairs function, including advertising, brand management, communication, and sustainability programs. Colleen has held progressively responsible positions with Viterra since joining in 1988 and was instrumental in establishing the Investor Relations Division when the company went public in 1996.  She studied Business Administration at the University of Regina and has completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Investor Relations Executive Development program at York University.

"Colleen is one of Canada's most senior IROs and she brings vast IR experience to the role of Chair, which will certainly serve CIRI well as the organization continues to contribute to the integrity of the capital markets and strives to advance the practice of investor relations," said Tom Enright, President & CEO, CIRI.

The following individuals were newly elected by CIRI members at the Annual Meeting held today:  Cristina Circelli, Deputy Corporate Secretary & General Counsel, Canadian National Railway Company; Bruce Mann, Vice President, Investor Relations, Rogers Communications Inc.; and Darren Seed, Vice President, Investor Relations, Wesport Innovations Inc. As President of CIRI's BC Chapter, Darren Seed was previously an appointed director on the CIRI Board.

About Newly Elected Directors:
Cristina Circelli is CN's Deputy Corporate Secretary and General Counsel. She has over twenty-five years of experience in corporate financing, securities and pension law, both as a previous partner of a prominent law firm in Montreal and over the past 15 years within the Law and Corporate Secretarial department at CN's Montreal headquarters. She is a member of CN's Corporate Services Management group, which comprises the Law, Corporate Secretary, Public and Government Affairs, Risk Mitigation and Security groups, CN's Corporate Disclosure Committee, as well as a management representative member on CN's Pension Committee.

Bruce M. Mann is Vice President, Investor Relations at Rogers Communications Inc. In this role Bruce has overall responsibility for directing and coordinating Investor Relations and related programs across the Rogers group of communications and media companies. In this position he serves as corporate spokesperson with external financial audiences and is responsible for managing Rogers' relationships with institutional share owners, bondholders and industry analysts. As well, he is responsible for marketing Rogers' equity securities to institutional investors and for driving capital market perspectives into the company to help shape business and financial strategy. Bruce brings a deep investor relations and capital markets background to his position, as well as strong industry and cross border experience.

Darren Seed is the Vice President, Investor Relations & Communications at Westport Innovations, a dual-listed company and global leader in natural gas engines.  Darren's key role at Westport has been the establishment of the Company's U.S. listing and shareholder base since the Company's Nasdaq IPO in the summer of 2008.  While at Westport, Darren has helped the Company raise over US$220 million and develop a comprehensive social media campaign.  He has worked extensively in both the Canadian and American markets with over 14 years IR experience across various industries including Biotech, Fuel Cell, High Tech and the venture capital arena. Darren is the President of the BC Chapter of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) and has been a board member since 2005.
