For his work in improving diversity, equity and inclusion, Michael Bach
receives recognition from Catalyst Canada.
TORONTO, June 8, 2011 /CNW/ - KPMG LLP (Canada) today announces that
Catalyst Canada, a leading nonprofit membership organization expanding
opportunities for women and business, has recognized one of KPMG's own.
Michael Bach, Director of Diversity, equity and inclusion at KPMG is
being honored for his endless and devoting work to improve diversity
Mr. Bach was instrumental in making KPMG the first accounting firm in
Canada to set targets for women becoming partners at the firm, and the
result has been an increase in the proportion of women and visible
minorities in new partner classes at KPMG from 40 percent in 2009 to 51
percent in 2010. "Our goal is to ensure we have a workplace that is
inclusive of all of our people. If we work together we can achieve this
goal and in doing so, create a workplace where everyone has the
opportunity to succeed!" explains Michael Bach.
Beyond the KPMG's walls, Mr. Bach's has taken his commitment to
diversity into the local communities. He is the Founder and Board Chair
of Pride at Work Canada, and he is an advisory board member for the
Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 program run by Women's Executive
Network. He is also heavily involved with the Canadian Board Diversity
Council and the Rotman School of Management's Back to Work Program.

Mr. Bach and his fellow honorees will be celebrated at The Catalyst
Canada Honours dinner on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at The Fairmont
Royal York in Toronto.
