Enbridge to sponsor Coup de pouce aux familles program at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts

As a result of this donation, close to 20,000 people from low-income neighbourhoods will be able to enjoy various activities at the MMFA free of charge over a three-year period

MONTREAL, June 27, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Enbridge Inc. today announced it is partnering for the next three years with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) to support its Coup de pouce aux familles program. This program makes it possible for families facing economic barriers to visit the Museum by covering admission and transportation costs. More specifically, Enbridge's contribution to the program will support children and parents in east-end Montreal, where the Enbridge terminal is located, giving them the opportunity to explore the Museum's collections and exhibitions in an educational context.

The program
The Coup de pouce aux Familles program was introduced by the Museum to facilitate access to culture for children and parents from Greater Montreal's less privileged neighbourhoods. It is jointly coordinated by the ECPD and A Montreal School for All, an organization that provides assistance to 166 elementary schools and more than 40 high schools to bolster the academic, personal and social success of students in these schools.

Enbridge's donation will enable close to 20,000 parents and children, selected by A Montreal School for All's resource people in various communities, to take part in one of two free programs offered by the MMFA. These families will be able to enjoy a group guided tour (twice a month, on Sundays, participating families will be able to travel free of charge on a bus chartered by the Museum. Once there, they can take part in a guided tour followed by an art workshop, where everyone is free to express their creativity) or they can visit the temporary exhibitions and the permanent collection on their own, at any time the Museum is open (with a free pass provided beforehand) and take part in family activities on the weekend.

"Not only does the MMFA program focus on strengthening the arts community by providing access to a wider audience, but it also helps improve the quality of life for many families that want to experience such enriching cultural opportunities. This is consistent with our values here at Enbridge to contribute in innovative ways to the regions in which we operate," said D'Arcy Levesque, Vice-President, Enterprise Communications, Braud and Community Partners.
