TORONTO, April 6 /CNW/ - Aurora Oil & Gas Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of a new non-executive director and a senior executive appointment.

Non-Executive Director - Mr Bill Molson

Mr Frederick William Molson has accepted an invitation to join the Aurora Board as an independent, non-executive director. Mr Molson spent most of his career at UBS Securities Canada Inc where he was, until 2006, a Managing Director. In this capacity he gained extensive experience in assisting Canadian energy companies with capital raisings, capital structuring, mergers and acquisitions and investment relation strategies.

Mr Molson is currently an advisor to Saguenay Capital, a wealth advisory firm based in Purchase, New York USA which specializes in hedge fund strategies.

Mr Molson is also President of Invico Energy II and a Managing Director of Invico Energy III, two private energy funds based in Calgary.

Mr Molson is a graduate of Queens University, Ontario Canada where he obtained a BA in Economics

Executive Vice President - Corporate Affairs - Mr Darren Wasylucha

Mr Darren Wasylucha has agreed to join the executive management team of Aurora based in Toronto, Canada as Executive VP - Corporate Affairs. Mr Wasylucha was until recently a Partner in the law firm of Davies Ward Philips & Vineberg LLP, one of Canada's premier business law firms.

Practicing in the area of corporate finance and securities, Mr Wasylucha has advised Canadian and international public and private companies in an extensive range of debt and equity financings and merger & acquisition transactions. In addition to practicing in Canada with Davies, Mr Wasylucha spent part of his career in London with the corporate finance group of the English law firm of Clifford Chance LLP.

Mr Wasylucha holds an LLB from the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and a BA (Honours) from the University of Alberta, Alberta, Canada.

Mr Wasylucha's role will be to manage the corporate affairs of the Aurora Group of companies including such areas as compliance with Canadian and Australian listing rules and securities regulations, advice on legal and corporate matters and assistance with corporate transactions including merger & acquisitions, asset acquisitions and equity and debt financings.

This is a senior appointment and Mr Wasylucha will participate in the strategic and operational decision making and governance processes of the Group.
