"Arm Chair Forensic Scientists" experience the thrill of CSI: LIVE! at the Ontario Science Centre

This live-action stage performance takes place from June 6 to September 5, 2011

TORONTO, June 8, 2011 /CNW/ - This June, the world's number one television franchise hits the stage at the Ontario Science Centre as Mad Science® presents CSI: LIVE!. When a crime is committed at the Las Vegas premiere of the Max Spade Magic Show the CSI team springs into action. This live-action performance invites audience members on stage to become witnesses, suspects and CSI recruits led by CSI Investigators Sydney Mathis and David Hart. Together, using forensic science, the new recruits have 30 minutes to solve the crime…or do they?

Both science enthusiasts and mystery buffs will get excited as they become an integral part of the investigation. Plus, CSI Supervisor Gil Grissom lends a hand via live video connection from the Las Vegas Crime Lab. Together, with the help of Agents Mathis and Hart they will use their superior logic and forensic know-how to uncover hidden details, investigate the evidence and test their theories. Whether it's analyzing mysterious gases, launching projectiles into a target or firing a laser beam across the stage, the CSI recruits will have to be on their toes to help solve the crime before it's too late. How was the crime committed? Who is guilty? Guests are invited to help find the answers.

"Today, thanks in large part to the popular CSI television franchise, public interest in forensic science is exceptionally high." says Lesley Lewis, CEO of the Ontario Science Centre. "This summer, the Science Centre will actively engage and educate 'arm chair forensic scientists' of all ages with CSI: LIVE!"

CSI: LIVE! is free with general admission to the Science Centre and the show is recommended for ages eight and over. Seating capacity is limited with tickets available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Tickets may be reserved by calling 416-696-1000 or reserved on the same day at the box office, pending availability. This live performance has been financially assisted by the Government of Ontario through the Celebrate Ontario program.
