Beginning of the construction of "Carré de la Montagne"
MONTREAL, June 9, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - The future "Carré de la Montagne"
construction project, led by entrepreneur and promoter Maître Carré, officially launched today in the presence of the Sud-Ouest borough
mayor, Benoît Dorais.
The President and Chief of Development at Maître Carré, Hugo
Girard-Beauchamp, welcomed the fact that the "Carré de la Montagne" is
among the first major projects to rise in Griffintown, by stating "We
worked hand in hand with municipal authorities and the planning
advisory committee to present a project that respects the unique
architectural heritage of Griffintown. We wanted to ensure that the
'Carré de la Montagne' blends seamlessly into its urban environment,
and I am very proud of what we have accomplished", said Hugo
"If one respects the past and takes the best out of it, I am convinced
that Griffintown will regain its vitality. Located between historic
buildings, 'Carré de la Montagne' represents our vision of Ottawa
Street as an upcoming dynamic and vibrant street, but also as a

The "Carré de la Montagne" project is located in front of the
Griffintown St. Ann Park, and has sparked strong enthusiasm since it
was announced in 2010. To date, over 94% of the 148 units have already
been sold. The first "Carré de la Montagne" units will be delivered in
fall 2012, and will mark, in a concrete way, the revitalization of the
