TORONTO AND CAMROSE, AB, Nov. 25, 2011 /CNW/ - National accounting, tax
and advisory firm Grant Thornton LLP announced today that effective
December 1, 2011, the Camrose, Alberta accounting and business advisory
firm Tien Rostad LLP will join Grant Thornton LLP.
"We have worked in the same market segment for years and we have high
regard for each others' work," said Phil Noble, Executive Partner and
Chief Executive Officer, Grant Thornton LLP. "We see our coming
together as a great growth opportunity for both firms, and we are
particularly happy to be able to strengthen our presence in Alberta."
Tien Rostad has provided accounting and business advisory services to
Camrose-area businesses for 32 years. This 15 member Alberta firm will
join Grant Thornton's Northern Alberta Business Unit, which also has
offices in Edmonton and Wetaskiwin.
"Joining Grant Thornton will give us access to more resources—our scope
of services will be expanded, as will our technical strength. We feel
it is a good fit because our culture and market focus is strongly
aligned with theirs. Like us, Grant Thornton has always had a deep
commitment to personalized client service," said Doug Tien, founding
partner, Tien Rostad.
"When Doug and I founded the firm in 1979, it was natural to come home
to Camrose, where we both grew up," adds Shirley Rostad, the firm's
other founding partner. "We have enjoyed being a part of the growth of
our clients' businesses and Camrose as a community, and we are thrilled
to be able to continue supporting local businesses from this new
position of strength."
