Jim Quick to replace Claude Lajeunesse as head of AIAC
OTTAWA, June 15, 2011 /CNW/ - The Aerospace Industries Association of
Canada (AIAC), the voice of the Canadian aerospace industry, today
announced the appointment of Mr. James Quick as President and Chief
Mr. Quick has several years of experience restructuring not-for-profit
organizations and building high-performance organizations. Prior to
joining the AIAC, Jim Quick was President of Canadian Paint and
Coatings Association (CPCA). He previously held the position of
Assistant Deputy Minister of corporate communications with the
government of New Brunswick (GNB). He also spent time at a regional
healthcare corporation and served four federal cabinet ministers as a
senior political and policy advisor.

a very exciting time for the aerospace industry in Canada and I look
forward to working with members as we continue to transform AIAC as the
national voice of the sector." said Mr. Quick.
Nominated at AIAC's Board of Directors meeting on May 30, 2011. Mr.
Quick's term will officially begin on June 23, 2011.
Dr. Claude Lajeunesse, current President & CEO of AIAC served for nearly
three and a half years. "On behalf of the members of the Board of
Directors, I wish to sincerely thank Claude for the impressive
accomplishments realized under his leadership. He has strengthened the
voice of our association and defined a comprehensive strategic business
plan that will serve us well as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of AIAC in November. I also welcome Mr. Jim Quick in his
new role and look forward to working with him to the enhancement of the
competitiveness of our great industry," said John Saabas, Chairman of
the Board of AIAC and President of Pratt & Whitney Canada.
The AIAC is the national association representing Canada's aerospace
manufacturing and services sector. As the world's fifth largest
aerospace industry, Canada's aerospace sector generated in 2009 more
than $22 billion and employed nearly 80,000 Canadians. Seventy-eight
per cent of Canadian aerospace products were exported. AIAC represents
the interests of 400 aerospace companies across Canada.
