KINGSTON, ON, May 15, 2024 /CNW/ - Mark Gerretsen, Member of Parliament for Kingston and the Islands, will announce the reopening of Bellevue House National Historic Site in Kingston, Ontario.
Bellevue House, the former residence of Canada's first prime minister, Sir John A. Macdonald, and his family, is set to reopen its doors following an extensive restoration and the introduction of new exhibits and programming. As the only Parks Canada location solely dedicated to presenting the complex legacy of Sir John A. Macdonald, the new experience offers represent a new way of sharing history at Parks Canada's heritage places—one which includes diverse voices, presents multiple perspectives and inspires conversations about Canada's past, present and future.
