Two million 2007 Aliant Telephone Directories will be distributed
                           across Atlantic Canada

Saint John, NB, March 28 /CNW/ - Aliant, Atlantic Canada's leading
information and communications technology provider, today announced that
Danyka Leclair, a student at Apollo XI elementary school in Campbellton,
New Brunswick, is the winner of the 2007 Aliant Telephone Directory Cover
Contest.
In addition to receiving a new home computer system, Danyka's artwork
will be featured on the front cover of the 2007 Aliant Telephone Directory
across Atlantic Canada. Her artwork of "The Aliant class picture" will grace
the cover of all 35 directories produced in Atlantic Canada - about two
million printed copies in total. Aliant also gave a $5,000 donation to
Danyka's school in recognition of her accomplishment.
"For us at Aliant, it is all about making a difference in the communities
we serve throughout Atlantic Canada - by offering exceptional service and
value to our customers and by demonstrating our commitment to the
neighbourhoods where our employees live and work," said Heather Tulk, Senior
Vice-President, Marketing. "We were so impressed with the artwork we received
as it gave us an opportunity to see what matters most through the eyes of our
children."
Over 1200 children from grades Primary to Grade 6 across Atlantic Canada
participated in the 2007 Aliant Telephone Directory Cover Contest this past
December. Children were invited to submit artwork that showed how Aliant
helped make their community a better place to live.
"Aliant is more than a business. We take pride in being an integral part
of the community that inspires growth, compassion and volunteerism -
particularly in support of young people," said Tulk. "The 2007 directory will
be in homes and businesses all over Atlantic Canada for the next year and I
think the artwork captures the spirit and teamwork of our employees and
retirees beautifully."
Each year, Aliant invests more than $5 million in support of local
community organizations across Atlantic Canada, with the core program aimed at
helping children and youth reach their full potential. Aliant is proud to
support organizations and programs from KidSport(TM), United Way, and Junior
Achievement to the Aliant Walk for Kids Help Phone, along with many local
festivals and events throughout the Atlantic region.
