Yoav will present an additional concert on July 6 at the Montreal International Jazz Festival

Singer-songwriter of Charmed & Strange to perform for
    five concerts: July 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 at 8 p.m.

MONTREAL, June 27 /CNW Telbec/ - Due to popular demand, a fifth show has
been added on July 6th in addition to the shows already scheduled on July 2,
3, 4 and 5 at 8 p.m. at the Pavillon Heineken of the 2008 Montreal
International Jazz Festival.
These shows are part of an ongoing love affair between Yoav and Montreal.
The artist has a particular fondness for the city in which he had his first
performances and public appearances. It was in Montreal, in March 2008, that
Yoav launched his first album, Charmed & Strange after his 2007 North American
tour opening for Tori Amos.
An inventive London-based singer-songwriter, Yoav was born in Israel and
grew up in South Africa. Throughout the 11 tracks on Charmed & Strange, he
combines a great number of musical influences with a beautifully innovative
sound technique.
Prodigiously imaginative, Yoav fuses elements of hip hop, electronic
music and drum 'n' bass together to create a musical style that is all his
own. On Charmed & Strange he attempted to translate dance music to the guitar.
"I felt like I was DJing with my guitar". Instead of relying on computers or
drum machines, Yoav uses the body of his instrument to generate rhythms that
he loops and manipulates and also plays with feedback to imitate the sounds of
a keyboard. These techniques give his compositions a quality that is
exceptionally unique.
Yoav is represented by PHI GROUP in Canada and Verve Forecast in the
United States. www.yoavmusic.com
