Wishes come true for 101 Canadian kids this March Break

PICKERING, ON, March 6 /CNW/ - Wishes are coming true this month for more
than 100 children from across Canada, each diagnosed with a high-risk
life-threatening illness, as they prepare to travel to spectacular
destinations and come home with special memories. The Children's Wish
Foundation of Canada is making their wishes come true with all expenses paid
vacations for the child and their families, based on their individual wish
requests.
"Each of these young children is a hero. It's our privilege to be able to
grant so many wishes for the kids and their families who have endured so
much," says Chris Kotsopoulos, Executive Director, Children's Wish Foundation
of Canada. "By working together with dedicated local community members,
Children's Wish is able to help provide these wonderful kids with the
opportunity to realize one of their most heartfelt wishes."
One 10 year old boy from Toronto, diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, will
learn about his wish this Friday when he arrives at Toronto Pearson
International Airport to board a plane to Cleveland to meet and play with
Cavaliers Forward Lebron James.
Fifteen year-old Gabrielle from Calgary was diagnosed with Osteogenic
Sarcoma in September 2006 and most of her femur and tibia/fibula removed and
replaced with stainless steel. This month, Gabrielle and her family will be
going on a seven-day Western Caribbean Cruise on the Liberty of the Seas from
the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line with stops in Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and
Mexico. She'll be able to experience the beautiful beaches and the sparkling
blue waters of the Caribbean.
More than 60 children will be experiencing the magic of Disney World to
ride the rides and travel the waterways or have lunch with Cinderella in her
magical castle or even embark on an incredible Disney cruise! This includes
four year old Keyaira from Sydney, NS, who was diagnosed with Acute
Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This March Break, Keyaira wants to see all she can and
is taking her mom, brother, dad and grandmother to experience all of Disney
World. The highlight for Keyaira will be having tea with Cinderella at the
famous Princess' castle.
