the region are invited to don boots and skates, and come celebrate the arrival
of winter on the Quays of the Old Port of Montréal.
Opening of city's most picturesque ice skating rink
At 10:00 on Saturday, December 1st, life on the Quays shifts into winter
mode with the opening of the refrigerated Bonsecours Basin Skating Rink.
Skaters will delight in the phenomenal views of the urban environs. Come join
in the inauguration of the city's most picturesque outdoor ice skating rink
frequented by some 60 000 skaters each season! Admission $
Winter oasis to reveal new look
At 16:00, the Quays Winter Bar (18 years and over) will open under the
big top for the winter season through to March 9th. Featuring an
ultra-contemporary interior design concept, an inviting,
temperature-controlled ambience, and an all new outdoor terrace, the Quays
Winter Bar is one of the trendiest places in Montréal to sip on the beverage
of one's choice while feasting one's eyes on the breathtaking views of the
Quays and surrounding cityscape in winter garb.

Unforgettable opening night celebrations
At 18:00, the outdoor celebration gets under way! The skating rink
transforms into a dance floor replete with DJ!
At 19:15, trad music group Swing takes to the stage with a spirited,
festive performance certain to pick up the pace. What better occasion to
stretch one's legs and dance in the snow to the music of one of Québec's
leading trad music groups. Admission free
At 20:00, the evening sky literally explodes with the much anticipated
TELUS Fire on Ice fireworks spectacular presented by BEM Fireworks. A unique,
wintry, pyromusical experience of rare emotional intensity.
Admission free. Duration: 15-20 minutes.
Immediately following the fireworks, Swing returns to the stage to shake
things up a little and put everyone back in the party mood. Evening activities
continue at either the trendy Quays Winter Bar or on the ice with live DJ
accompaniment through to 22:00.
