- Nationwide program to raise thousands to kick-off corporate giving
VANCOUVER, Sept. 8 /CNW/ - Port Coquitlam-based Winexpert, the world's
leading manufacturer of premium winemaking kits, today announced it is
launching a national campaign to raise much-needed funds for the United Way.
In a unique campaign designed to give back to Winexpert's local communities,
the company will be donating $1 dollar per wine kit sold throughout the month
of September to the United Way, and expects to raise approximately $50,000.
"Winexpert is committed to making a difference in the communities that we
and our retailers serve," says Mario Rodi, Winexpert's Vice President, Sales
and Marketing. "We are very excited about this program, which reinforces our
commitment to the United Way through a national fundraising effort, and
provides funds to people and organizations that very much need our help."
There are 150 Winexpert retailers across the country (excluding Quebec),
participating in this program, raising funds for their local United Way. The
theme of the campaign is sharing and it will be supported through on-site
events, public relations, direct mail and traditional advertising at the
national and retailer levels. Many Winexpert Authorized retailers are also
matching the $1 donation meaning that in their local areas, $2 per kit sold
will be donated to the United Way.
In Quebec, 50 Winexpert Authorized retailers that operate under the
"Vinexpert" banner will also be participating. Monies raised will go to United
Way's affiliate in Quebec, Centraide.
"We are thrilled to have a partner like Winexpert on board for our
Corporate Giving campaign," says Pommashea Noel-Bentley, Vice President,
Resource Development, United Way of the Lower Mainland. "Their national reach
combined with their strong presence in so many communities makes them a
natural fit with our organization, and we are looking forward to working with
them on this year's campaign.
"United Way's priority is to work with community partners to improve the
lives of people in our communities. We rely on community partnerships to
achieve change. The funds raised by outstanding organizations like Winexpert
will have a lasting impact on our community."
In 2007, Winexpert and its employees donated $20,000 to the United Way
through employee donations and special event fundraisers.
"Although, it is important for wine kit companies to talk about the
medals they have won, the quality of their products, variety etc., it's also
important for us to show our support for the communities we do business in.
"Winexpert is the only kit supplier that can bring together a network of
Authorized Retailers across the country that can execute a national promotion
linked to a common cause," continues Rodi. "By partnering with the United Way
for this great cause, we are also creating awareness to our industry,
Winexpert, and the network Winexpert Authorized Retailers."
Based in Port Coquitlam, BC, Canada, Winexpert is wholly owned by Andrew
Peller Ltd., Canada's leading vintner. For over 20 years, Winexpert has
manufactured the best winemaking products in the industry and is now the
leading provider of wine kits in North America. Winexpert offers a total of
nine wine kit brands, including Selection(TM), the original premium quality
wine kit, and the industry's largest and most respected limited release brand,
Selection Limited Edition Series(TM).
