Wilson Banwell PROACT Human Solutions(TM) corporate announcement and new name



    VANCOUVER, Sept. 15 /CNW/ - Wilson Banwell PROACT Human Solutions(TM) has
been restructured in order to enhance its ability to respond to the changing
health and productivity needs of its customer organizations, the company
announced today. The company also announces its name is changing to Human
Solutions(TM).
    Dr. Robert Wilson, Human Solutions founder and CEO, explains that in
response to changing market forces, "the organization was restructured to
include a reorganization of the Senior Executive team, the establishment of
three separate business units, the promotion of some key managers, and the
enhancement of some products and services."

    
    The Senior Executive team at Human Solutions(TM) now includes:

    -   Dr. Greg Banwell, Senior Vice-President and Director.

    -   Mr. Jean Gosselin, Senior Vice-President and Director.

    -   Ms. Yvonne Petkovic, Senior Vice-President, Finance and
        Administration.

    -   Mr. Craig Thompson, Senior Vice-President, Strategic Growth.

    -   Dr. Robert Wilson, Chief Executive Officer.
    

    "The Senior Executive team felt that we could better serve customers and
new markets if we were to establish a clearer distinction between EFAP
services and non-EFAP services. As a result we have set up our EFAP as a
separate business unit that provides counselling services, as well as a suite
of services we call the Plan Smart Series and additional online services which
were all designed to help clients take a proactive approach to managing
everyday challenges and life transitions," says Dr. Wilson.

    
    Effective July 1, 2008 the new EFAP business unit is being managed by:

    -   Ms. Lorene Beckett, Vice-President Customer Relations.

    -   Dr. Marie Helene Pelletier, Vice-President Professional Services.

    -   Ms. Judith Plotkin, Vice-President Business Development.

    -   Mr. Jacques Sauvageau, Vice-President Operations.
    

    A second business unit now includes a range of organization and workplace
support services which are referred to as Workhealth(TM). This part of the
business was developed in 1984 when Dr. Greg Banwell joined the organization.
"Operating as a stand-alone business unit will ensure that these services are
more directly accessible to our customers," says Dr. Wilson.
    The third business unit, Integrated Disability Management, will, as the
name implies, provide a range of services related to disability management and
return to work. Human Solutions(TM) is currently working on enhancing and
expanding its existing capabilities in this area to respond to changing
customer needs.

    
    The Senior Executive team initiated these changes in response to what it
sees are three distinct drivers in the marketplace:

    -   The changing composition of today's workforce - e.g. Gen Y'ers
        working alongside employees who have decided to work past 60-65, and
        the increasing diversity of cultures in the workplace;

    -   The reality that has found Employee and Family Assistance Programming
        in the last decade becoming such a competitive business that it's now
        more of a commodity than a service; and

    -   The fact that traditionally EFAPs have focused on 8-10 percent of the
        population who have problems and not focused as much on how to help
        the majority of employees lead better, healthier lifestyles, but who
        want to do so in their own way, in their own time.
    

    "As our organization has grown over the last few years, so too has our
name, Wilson Banwell PROACT Human Solutions(TM). In order to capture the
goodwill associated with these two companies, we decided to capitalize the
values of both companies under one brand, Human Solutions(TM)," explains Dr.
Wilson.
    "Finally, I am pleased to announce that Human Solutions recently received
EAP accreditation through the Council on Accreditation. It's great timing for
us to achieve this recognition now. Our people spent considerable time and
effort to meet COA requirements, and the Senior Executive group and I are
extremely proud of our people and our accomplishments. We are all very excited
about what the future holds and how we can better support our customers in
taking a comprehensive and integrated approach to organizational health and
employee well-being that extends beyond what traditional providers offer."
