What's open and closed at the City of Montréal over the Victoria/Patriotes Day holiday



    MONTREAL, May 15 /CNW Telbec/ - Several Montréal municipal facilities
will be open over the holiday period, while others will be operating on
reduced schedules or closed on May 18.
    Most municipal offices will be closed on Monday, May 18, 2009, including
borough and Accès-Montréal offices as well as local service points. Citizens
also may consult borough and central city Web sites at the
ville.montreal.qc.ca. portal.

    Garbage and recycling collections
    ---------------------------------

    As collection days and times vary by borough, citizens are asked to
consult weekly community newspapers, contact local service offices or log on
to borough Web sites for information on changes to pick-up schedules.

    Sports and cultural facilities
    ------------------------------

    Arenas, swimming pools, sports centres, libraries and cultural centres
also follow varied schedules set by their respective boroughs. Citizens are
asked to contact personnel at these facilities to check on days and times of
operation.

    Science facilities
    ------------------

    The Biodôme (4777, avenue Pierre-De Coubertin) will be open over the
holiday weekend, including Monday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Information:

    The Montréal Planetarium (1000, rue Saint-Jacques) will be closed on
Monday. You may consult the Web site at planetarium.montreal.qc.ca.

    The Montréal Botanical Garden and Insectarium (4101, rue Sherbrooke Est
and 4581, rue Sherbrooke Est) will be open as well over the long weekend,
Monday included, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Information: 514 872-1400.

    Other facilities
    ----------------

    The Montréal municipal court, at 775, rue Gosford, as well as service
points and the counter at 303, rue Notre-Dame Est, will be closed on Monday,

    Public markets will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Information: 514

    Marché Bonsecours (350, rue Saint-Paul Est) will be open 10 a.m. to 6
p.m., on Monday. Information: 514 872-7730

    Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History, will be
closed on Monday. Information: 514 872-9150.

    The Claude-Robillard sports complex is closed. Information: 514 872-6900.

    Ecocentres
    ----------

    Ecocentre Acadie (1200, boulevard Henri-Bourassa Ouest) will be open on
Monday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Information: 514 872-1376.

    Ecocentre de la Côte-des-Neiges (6925, chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges) will
be closed from now until the fall of 2009 for repairs and cleaning.

    Ecocentre Eadie (1868, rue Cabot) will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    Ecocentre Petite-Patrie will be open Monday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    Ecocentre de Rivière-des-Prairies (11400, rue Léopold-Christin) will be

    Ecocentre de Saint-Michel (2475, rue des Regrattiers) will be open from 8

    Parking

    Please note that meters in parking lots will operate at all times
throughout the holiday weekend and that motorists also must obey no-parking
signs.
