    TORONTO, Nov. 1 /CNW/ - Weber-Stephen Products Co., the world's leading

extending its support to this year's Grey Cup Festival as a corporate sponsor.
Weber has been named The Official Grill of the 2007 Grey Cup Festival, and as
title partner of this year's event, Weber will participate in the four-day
festival that kicks off Thursday, November 22nd and runs to Grey Cup Sunday,
November 25th.
    Weber will house The Weber Grilling Station - a 20' x 20' Weber tent at
the Pepsi(R) Front Street Festival where the latest and greatest in Weber
grills will be on display and visitors will have a chance to win a Weber grill
daily. In addition to viewing Weber's gas and charcoal grill line-up,
consumers will have a chance to get up close and personal with Weber grilling
expert Naz Cavallaro (a.k.a. BBQ Naz), who will be on hand to share grilling
tips and answer any barbecue questions, plus demo some delicious Weber recipes
you can use when hosting your Grey Cup tailgating party.
    On Saturday, November 24th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., The Weber Grill-Off
competition takes place with grilling guru Chef Robert Rainford of Food
Network Canada's License to Grill and Uber-Chef Arpi Magyar of Couture
Cuisine, coaching two CFL players who will compete in a tong-to-tong barbecue
battle for charity. Judging the competition will be an esteemed panel of food
and sports experts. Toronto broadcaster Fred Patterson will MC the event. The
winning CFL player will receive a cheque from Weber for $500 to the charity of
his choice. Runner-up prizes will be presented to all contest participants.
    The Weber Grilling Station will be open November 22 and 23 from 4 p.m. to
11 p.m., November 24 from noon to 7 p.m., and November 25 from noon to 6 p.m.
    With Grey Cup football fever in the air, Weber-Stephen Products Co.
recently completed a new Weber Canadian Grillwatch(TM) Survey that reported
some interesting statistics when it comes to tailgating in Canada.
    Toronto-based Leger Marketing conducted an online survey based on a
sample of 1,013 Canadian respondents age 18 and over who own an outdoor grill.
The sample is representative of the Canadian population and questions were
answered in both English and French.
    The survey reports that almost four out of five Canadians have heard the
term "tailgating party" (79%), and not surprisingly more men (87%) are
familiar with this term vs. women (74%).
    According to the survey, completed in September 2007, just over one in
ten Canadians attended a tailgating party in the past year, with football
games named the most popular venue for tailgaters (42%). The second most
popular location for a tailgating party was at a picnic (27%) and hockey games
were rated the third most popular event (21%).
    The survey revealed that Canadians ranked having a barbecue as one of the
top three essential tailgating party elements (60%). Good
friends/family/sports fans topped the "essentials list" (72%), followed by
great food (66%). Staying warm was less of a priority at a tailgating party as
only (2%) of Canadians listed blankets as an essential tailgating party
element when surveyed.
