New Website Showcases Unique Collection of 10 Alaska and Yukon Hotels
SEATTLE, May 20 /CNW/ -- Westmark Hotels is celebrating the 50th
anniversary of Alaska's statehood with special room rates and promotions. A
subsidiary of Holland America Line, Westmark Hotels offers special
celebrations at its unique collection of 10 hotels in Alaska and the Yukon.
The hotel collection is now showcased in a redesigned website.
"This is a milestone year for Alaska, and this summer is the ideal time
to travel there and take advantage of Westmark's Alaska anniversary
promotions," said Steve Leonard, vice president and general manager of
Westmark Hotels. "Alaska became a state in 1959, and so many of Westmark's
special offers play off that historic year in a fun way."
For example, the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel & Conference Center and
Westmark Baranof in Juneau are enticing guests with an offer to stay three
nights and then enjoy an additional fourth night for just $59. The Westmark
Inn Skagway is offering a special 50th Anniversary Rate of $95.59 and a
bottomless cup of coffee for 59 cents.
Westmark hotels in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Dawson City and Whitehorse (also
home of Klondike Inn) are featuring fun vintage cocktails with 1950s
nostalgia. The Westmark Anchorage is offering an Alaska wild salmon dinner
nightly for just $19.50 and a "Bite of Alaska" dessert, sprinkled with gold
dust, for $1.95.
The Westmark Inn Tok features a "Famous Big Margarita" for $19.59 and a
distinctly Alaskan offer: guests can buy an Ulu (native knife) and get a
second one for just 59 cents. They can also purchase a handmade Alaskan clock
All the special room rates and promotions are featured on Westmark's
newly redesigned website, www.westmarkhotels.com.
"Westmark's new website is more user-friendly to ensure easy navigation
and booking," said Leonard. "Website visitors can readily find these special
50th Anniversary promotions and obtain complete details about each hotel,
thanks to the new use of animation on the home page and a new video that
showcases our hotels in their respective locations."
On Westmark's new website, each page now has a reservation button, making
booking easier for users. Convenient drop-down menus on each hotel page, for
example, offer brochure downloading, food and beverage information, and
conference and meeting details.
The largest hotel group in Alaska and the Yukon, Westmark operates 10
hotels in nine communities. Of Westmark's 10 hotels, five are open year-round
in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Whitehorse, Juneau and Sitka. The five properties
open seasonally from mid-May through mid-September include:
Westmark Inn at Beaver Creek - In the tradition of an Alaska Highway
roadhouse, this property provides comfortable lodging, meals and the popular
Rendezvous Dinner Show.
Westmark Inn Dawson City - This recently renovated and expanded property
provides guests with spacious, comfortable accommodations close to legendary
Diamond Tooth Gertie's gambling hall in the heart of this lively gold rush
Westmark Klondike Inn - A landmark in the Yukon's historic capital of
Whitehorse, the inn is the ideal base for excursions to many nearby
attractions such as the Yukon Gardens, McBride Museum and SS Klondike National
Westmark Inn Skagway - Klondike Gold Rush flavor lingers in Skagway where
10,000 gold seekers struggled up the grueling Chilkoot Trail in 1897-99. The
Westmark Inn reflects the charm and personality of those gold rush days with
Victorian decor, rustic setting and warm Alaskan hospitality.
Westmark Tok - The town of Tok is the first community inside the U.S.
border along the famous Alaska Highway. Westmark's hotel offers an inviting
retreat for travelers heading north to Fairbanks or southwest to Anchorage.
Westmark is also offering a special in-state promotion of $25 off room
rates, from mid-May to mid-September, at its hotels along the Alaskan Highway.
Visitors can obtain vouchers with the $25 discount in kiosks and visitor
centers throughout the state.

helpful staff and comfortable accommodations. For more information or
