War Amps Production Featuring PEI "CHAMP" Wins Gold Award at New York City Film Festival

NEW YORK CITY, Feb. 29 /CNW Telbec/ - War Amps CEO Cliff Chadderton was
advised today that PLAYSAFE in the Atlantic, part of The War Amps Ambassador
Series, has won a Gold Award at the 2008 International Mercury Awards in New
York City.
The two-minute vignette features Mark Arendz of North Wiltshire, Prince
Edward Island, who lost his arm in a farm accident at the age of seven. It
shows Mark, now 18, spreading The War Amps PLAYSAFE message to children in the
Atlantic region in the hope of preventing similar accidents.
The vignette, which also won a Gold Award at the 2007 Galaxy Film
Festival in New York, can be viewed on The War Amps Web site at
www.waramps.ca/playsafe/video/ambas.php.
The Ambassador Series is produced by Mr. Chadderton and funded by
corporate donations.
"Mark has done a tremendous job as a War Amps Safety Ambassador in
presentations across PEI and with our PLAYSAFE float in Charlottetown's Gold
Cup Parade, and now he is reaching children across the Atlantic region with
this vignette," said Mr. Chadderton. "We are very pleased indeed that his
efforts have been recognized in this way."

The 2008 International Mercury Awards, which honour excellence in
professional communication, were chosen from nearly 1,000 entries from 23
countries.
