Canadian Diabetes Association appreciates its world-class volunteers
TORONTO, April 20 /CNW/ - In celebration of National Volunteer Week, the
Canadian Diabetes Association would like to send a sincere message of
gratitude to each of our more than 20,000 volunteers who give selflessly of
their time, effort and compassion each and every day. Their incredible
contributions allow the Association to serve the more than 2.4 million
Canadians living with diabetes in communities across Canada.
"Our volunteers are essential to the work we do and we are grateful for
the time and the expertise they share with us and the communities we serve,"
said Ellen Malcolmson, President and CEO, Canadian Diabetes Association.
"Their commitment benefits the millions of people living with diabetes across
Canada and their efforts help to create healthy, thriving communities."
Thanks to the significant efforts and commitment of our volunteers, the
Canadian Diabetes Association was able to deliver diabetes education programs
to more than 78,000 Canadians and raise more than $2.4 million through
residential campaigns last year.
