Voltage Levels Restored to Normal

    TORONTO, June 12 /CNW/ - Ontario's Independent Electricity System
Operator (IESO) implemented a five per cent voltage reduction in many parts of
the province for approximately 30 minutes this afternoon.
The move was a precautionary measure following the temporary loss of a
500 kilovolt circuit delivering power from the northeast part of the province.
The transmission line was returned to service and the voltage levels were
restored to normal levels by 2:30 p.m.
This temporary voltage reduction should not have been noticed by most
consumers.

The IESO is responsible for managing Ontario's bulk electricity system
and operating the wholesale electricity market. For more information, visit
