CALGARY, Aug. 27 /CNW/ - Vital Resources Corp. ("Vital") (CNQ Exchange -
VITL; Frankfurt Stock Exchange - VZN) is pleased to announce that it is
presently preparing a NI 43-101 compliant geological report on the Fongo-Tongo
Bauxite Concession ("Fongo-Tongo").
Michael Whitehead, President and CEO is pleased to announce that
Christian Derosier, P.Geo. and QP, our consulting Geologist is on site at
Fongo-Tongo working to complete the report.
The Fongo-Tongo Bauxite Deposit is known to be one of the key bauxite
deposits in Cameroon, and Cameroon is known for some of the highest grades of
bauxite in the world. This deposit is approximately 8 km in length and 3 km
wide and overlain by 1 meter overburden. The thickness of the bauxite carapace
deposit ranges from 7 meters to a maximum of 11 meters in thickness.
The Fongo-Tongo deposit was originally discovered in the 1950's has had
extensive geological and exploration work completed to date. The Fongo-Tongo
Concession covers a total area of 945 square km.
The historical reserves estimated in the Alcan International geological
evaluation were estimated to be 40 million tons of high grade bauxite ore.
These estimates were done over 25 years ago and are therefore not NI 43-101
compliant. 200 samples from these evaluations found an average 49.2% Al(2)O(3)
(alumina) and 2.7% T.SiO(2) (silica).
