TORONTO, Jan. 9 /CNW/ - Holiday programming earned VisionTV its
highest-ever prime time ratings, Canada's multi-faith and multicultural
television network reported today.
Data from BBM Nielsen show that VisionTV achieved a 1.00% prime time
audience share for the week of Dec. 15-21, 2008. The network's 30-minute
audience reach was a season-high 1.48 million.
VisionTV's highest rated program for the week was the movie A Holiday
Romance, which recorded an average minute audience of 251,000. An
unprecedented nine VisionTV programs had an AMA of 100,000-plus.
VisionTV marked the 2008 holiday season with three full weeks of Yuletide
movies and music specials, running from Dec. 8-26.
December's highs capped an autumn that saw significant ratings growth for
the network. VisionTV's audience share for the first 13 weeks of the 2008-2009
season was up 64% over the same period last year.

The network will debut a number of original new Canadian productions in
early 2009, including the documentary anthology series I Prophesy: The Future
Revealed and Supernatural Investigator (both premiering Jan. 27), and the
drama series SOUL (premiering Feb. 11), which stars Juno Award-winning R&B
artist Keshia Chanté.
VisionTV will also present specials in 2009 celebrating major faith
holidays such as Rosh Hashanah, Ramadan, Easter and Diwali.
