- New Office Will Cater to City in their Second-Largest International
TORONTO, Sept. 2 /CNW/ - The Greater Houston Convention and Visitor's
Bureau announced today the opening of a Canadian office that will serve the
city in Canada, the state of Texas' second-largest international market. The
new tourism office will be represented by Vision/Co. under the direction of
Jordan Bitove and Charmaine Singh. The office will provide tourism marketing
and media relation services, assist in the promotion of meetings, conventions,
incentives and events (MICE) and work with the travel trade to increase
visitation to Houston.

Canada is the second leading source of international visitors to Texas
with 333,000 visitors in 2006 - an increase of 9% over 2005. This growth
follows the impressive increase of 18% over the previous year. Canadian
travelers that include a visit to Texas spent an about $750 per trip creating
a total visitor spending impact of approximately $250 million.

Johnson Space Center, home to the original mission control and training
facilities for international space station. The city is also a premiere
