Enhanced data reporting on WestJet transactions improves visibility and
spending control for commercial card programs
TORONTO, Feb. 23 /CNW/ - Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) announced today in Canada
that enhanced data reporting is now available for WestJet transactions made on
Visa commercial cards issued by banks that support enhanced data reporting.
WestJet is the newest vendor to provide enhanced data for purchases made with
Visa Business, Visa Purchasing or Visa Corporate cards in Canada.
Enhanced data refers to transactional details beyond the basic financial
information usually provided on card statements. This additional information
helps give companies a broader perspective of employee travel and
entertainment spending, increasing visibility and potentially reducing program
costs and inefficiencies. For WestJet purchases made with Visa commercial
cards, enhanced data could include specific details such as flight number,
departure and arrival locations, and ticket confirmation numbers.
"Enhanced data in commercial card programs is another example of the
value Visa provides to businesses, as companies seek to further analyze
expenditures and ensure adherence to corporate spending policies," said Kareem
Chouli, Head of Commercial Solutions in Canada, Visa Inc. "Visa is excited to
welcome WestJet as a provider of comprehensive data reporting."
Accepted everywhere Visa credit cards are accepted, Visa's commercial
card programs offer a variety of features that combine to give cardholders
more flexibility and confidence while assisting companies with tracking and
"WestJet is pleased to provide enhanced billing information for all
transactions completed with Visa commercial cards," said Duncan Bureau,
Vice-President of Sales and Airline Partnerships for WestJet. "For those
customers whose banks will pass on this new level of information, it will be
an extremely useful feature that we know will be appreciated."
