VIA's Chaleur and Ocean Train Services Back to Normal by Wednesday

MONTREAL, July 28 /CNW Telbec/ - VIA Rail Canada wishes to advise
travellers that the Ocean (Montreal-Halifax) and Chaleur (Montreal-Gaspé)
train services, which have been partially replaced by alternative
transportation since Saturday, will be back to normal by this Wednesday.
Neither the Ocean nor the Chaleur has a scheduled departure from Halifax,
Montreal or Gaspé on Tuesdays.
The interruption in service was due to a Matapedia and Gulf Railway
freight train accident near Trois-Pistoles on Saturday, July 26, which blocked
the tracks normally used by VIA's passenger trains.
VIA apologies for any inconvenience caused by this disruption. For more
information on train schedules, or to book a trip, customers can visit VIA's
secure Web site at viarail.ca. Passengers also can book their tickets by
calling 1 888 VIA-RAIL (1 888 842-7245), or 1 800 268-9503 (TTY for the
hearing impaired).
