VIA Rail set to resume normal services between Toronto - Montreal and Toronto - Ottawa

TORONTO, April 28 /CNW/ - VIA wishes to advise customers that it will be
resuming all normal operations between Toronto-Montreal and Toronto-Ottawa
beginning with its Sunday morning and mid morning trains.
CN has advised that clean up efforts at the derailment site near Cobourg,
Ontario will be completed by Sunday morning allowing for the resumption of all
regular passenger and freight operations.
Effective immediately, VIA Rail will also be resuming ticket sales on
these services.

Regular train service will resume with the following trains:
Train 43 - Ottawa to Toronto departing 08:35
Train 57 - Montreal to Toronto departing 09:40
Train 60 - Toronto to Montreal departing at 11:30

VIA will continue to substitute chartered motor coaches for its Sunday
early morning operations. Buses will make all regularly scheduled stops at
enroute VIA stations. VIA will attempt to respect its scheduled departure and
arrival times, but due to the congestion caused on the rail line by the
derailment, some delays are nonetheless expected.
VIA wishes to apologize for any inconvenience and for the expected delays
this disruption may cause to its passengers. Customers wishing to purchase
tickets or further information may visit viarail.ca or call 1 888-VIA RAIL
(842-7245).
