Good Service and Knowledgeable Staff Score High
MONTREAL, July 22 /CNW/ - For the second year in a row VIA Rail Canada
has been awarded first place for passenger rail services in the annual Agents'
Choice Awards. Retaining the top spot is a testament to the company's ongoing
commitment to customer focus and innovation. More than 3500 travel agents
participated in the voting that recognizes the very best in 22 categories from
rail operators to tour operators.
A user-friendly website, knowledgeable staff and good service were cited
once again as the reasons why VIA retained the top spot in this year's awards.
Mohamed Bhanji, Director, Marketing Technologies at VIA, was thrilled to see
VIA retain first place. "We appreciate the valuable feedback and vote of
confidence provided by agents through this important survey," said Bhanji.
This is the second major recognition award VIA has received this year. In
January, VIA Rail's Canadian was recognized by the Society of International
Railway Travelers as one of the world's top 25 train journeys. VIA's Canadian
was the only regularly-scheduled train in North America to be included in the
list. Here too VIA's good service and knowledgeable staff scored high marks.
Coming in second place this year was Rocky Mountaineer, followed by Rail
Europe, British Rail and Orient Express. Filling in the overall top ten were
Amtrak, Japan Rail, Brewster, Royal Canadian Pacific and Trans-Siberian
